Cool New here.....interested in info

I just found this board, and would like any info I can get from "veterans". I have recently started having problems with my legs when I to to bed....a feeling like I can't hold them still. Sometimes they (usually just 1 at a time) will twitch so violently that it wakes my husband up. I am constantly moving my legs to get them comfortable, but the urge to move them comes again in a few minutes. It happened the other night during a car ride too.....we finally had to stop so I could get out and stretch. Does this sound like RLS? I have tried stretching which helps for a little bit, but nothing that will let me fall asleep easily without the "tingling" sensations. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

Post

Just a quick update. After reading many posts dealing with the effects of various meds, I decided to taper off the ones I was taking to see if it made a difference. I was on Wellbutrin 2x/day, and Prozac 20mg 1xday for depression and PMS. I tapered off the prozac first, then the wb. I also supplemented my normal daily multivitamin and coral calcium/magnesium with a B complex and C supplement. I am also starting A and E supplements (whenever they arrive in the mail!). It does seem to have made a difference in my RLS. I still experience minor tingling when I first go to bed, but I have so far been able to fall asleep much easier. That is good news for me! I am planning a dr appt next month to re-eval my depression/PMS meds, but I was just to the point that I felt that perhaps my body and brain needed a break to get back to whatever was "normal" for me. Hope this helps someone!

It sounds are if you are in the right place. I am currently taking REQUIP and it has really helped. Be careful taking antidepressants, they do not mix well with the RLS. I have migranes and was put on an antidepressant it helped the migranes but it kicked the RLS into high gear. Good Luck!!!
