Another RLS flareup - Restless Leg Syndrome Message Board

I was first dx'd with RLS 19 years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child. I have suffered with it on and off since that time. I've never been treated for it, because it occured so infrequently, but boy oh boy...when it flared...it FLARED!!! I've been having recurring episodes lately that seem to be more frequent. I'm glad I found some "kindred souls" who know how absolutely INSANE the sensations can drive you. Can't lay still, can't sit still, can't sleep...driving everyone around you nuts!! Hoping this doesn't last too long this time.

Ask your Dr. about Neurontin, it worked for me. See message that I posted earlier today in response to another person with the same problem.

Neurontin starts working right away. At first its gonna make you tired, but as the weeks go by you will get used to it. I only take 600mg a day, and it kills my calf pains in an hour. I dont have all the symptoms of RLS, thank you. My doctor says im one of the lucky ones. Its true, calf pains are apart of RLS. I have read that some people are saying they have never heard of that. My legs also jerk out of nowhere at night. Sometimes my arms jerk too!!! I dont have the creepy crawlies. I used to have twiching in my foot and calf, but that stopped along time ago. Ive noticed with the neurontin that my legs dont jerk as much at night.

This medication is supposed to work miracles with RLS.
