strangely enough (well it is to me) RLS is a sleeping disorder..
It will make u appear like u can't sit still, and to yourself, it's difficult not to wiggle your legs around.. Sitting becomes unbearable, as a matter of fact I would get to work in the morning and run up and down a few flights of stairs till my legs hurt..
it was that or taking a half of a darvocet.. or worse, both.
Restless Legs Syndrome is an overwhelming urge to move the legs usually caused by uncomfortable or unpleasant sensations in the legs. The sensations have the following features
Occur during periods of inactivity
Become more severe in the evening and at night
Are relieved by movement of the limb
Often cause difficulty staying or falling asleep, which lead to feelings of daytime tiredness or fatigue
May cause involuntarily jerking of the limbs during sleep and sometimes during wakefulness
And it does attack during the day light working hours, particularly in a stressful situation. (or even "riding" or driving in a vehicle.)
certain food, medications and definately stress will effect you and make things worse. If you take antidepressants, SSRI's are nasty to RLS.. There are a few doctor's who specialize in RLS, a lot of the time it is that your body is lacking certain types of minerals.. a correction in diet will fix some of the people, RLS has it's own web page and the resources of this message board will have a lot of info that you could look up and read... btw, if you are a chocolate fiend, u don't wanna know that some chocolates will cause u problems too.. (that is the part that really bites.)
