I have read so many entries and wanted to share that I do have a solution that works fabulous to get to sleep. It is NOT a cure but helps you get to sleep and have a very restful night.

It is an antinflammatory drug called Orudius. It is an over the counter just like Advil only this is Ketoprophin 12.5 mg. It helps you relax and fall asleep within 15 minutes or less and I feel totally rested in the morning. The only thing is that it is sometimes hard to find. I have found found that Eckerds usually has it.

I am so convinced that it needs to be tried by RLS suffers, I would ask the pharmacist to order it special if they don't have it. If you can't find it, please respond - I have a pharmacist that I do business with in my professional life who told me he could get it for me if I couln't find it.

It is soooo worth the try.

I am new here and am glad to see there are so many alternatives in relieving symptoms of RLS.

A friend has RLS and is diabetic (any connection? hmmm). She takes CitraCal plus (magnesium and calcium supplement). It seems to work for her. I started taking it last night. I'm up this morning at 2:45 a.m. reading RLS post. I guess it will take a few days.

I read recently that an iron deficiency can bring on the symptoms of RLS. I am going to have my doctor do a mineral deficiency test to tell me where I am deficient and then use supplements. I'll let you know.

I find one commonality in the several posts that I have read tonight, the over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drug by the product name Orudius seems to work for some. I am putting that one on my list to try as well.

This is a miserable problem for so many. I think I'll start a support group and newsletter here in Utah (unless one exists) and get the word out. There are alternatives to suffering.

I have "familial" RLS. And it is the most annoying thing I have ever experienced. I hope some of the suggestions mentioned here and elsewhere in these posts helps.

God's love to all that suffer with this disease. Hang in there.

Can I ask what is familia RLS??? And btw, can anyone tell me why every day it seems to be earlier and ealier that my syptoms are occuring?? I am becoming one very grouchy mom and wife due to lack of sleep and these awful symptoms. I still have yet to make it to the dr, I am just dreading another prescription bill every month but not sure how long I can take this. Thank you all for the great suggestions, I am trying everything!!! And it helsp so much to know I am not alone. I have the ORDIUS on the top of my list for tomorrow and I plan on going to every drug store til I find it tomorrow.

I finally found the Orudis and I am looking forward to trying it. I am actually looking forward to going to bed tonight. I will let all know how it works for me.

As with any anti inflamatory analgesic those are normal possible side effects. Same as Advil, motrin etc. Use caution if you have had a history of ulcers or blood disorders, most people can tolerate it.
