Mirapex and waking up - Restless Leg Syndrome Message Board

Has anyone experienced problems with insomnia while on mirapex? I am on my third week now, started with .25 for a week, and helped but did not relieve the sensations entirely. I moved up to .50, and some nights it was good, but not all. I woke up at 2:30 and stayed up and went to work in the morning. I always wake up several times. Last night I took .75 and the legs were fine, but I am "wired". I wake up frequently, and do not feel rested in the morning. I hope to stay away from the sleeping pills, but I am getting desperate. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Mirapex actually has a sedative effect on me when I started taking it, but it wore off after a week or so of taking it. I sleep like a baby. Talk to you r doctor before you try anything

Mirapex kept me awake. My legs stopped moving but I couldn't sleep because of the drug. I take Requip now and it is better

I take Mirapex .125 for periodic limb movement disorder. I take one an hour before going to bed. I have noticed that I don't sleep as long as I used to. I thought it may have been because of another medication I take for my thyroid. Doctor increased the dose of that medicine about the same time I went on Mirapex so I don't know which one is exactly to blame. I hope you all sleep well tonight.
