I have mild to moderate RLS, very bothersome. 3 years ago I saw an alternative meds specialist, she recommended taking a spectrum of B vitamins . They completely eliminated my symptoms within a few days. If you have not taken B complex they are worth trying, however it is essential that they be QUALITY supplements, not all supplements are the same. I would not purchase them from a drug store or supermarket. I am currently taking RAW ONE FOR WOMEN by Garden of Life. The capsules, a general vitamin, contain all the B vitamins -B1, B2, B6 and B12, biotin, folic acid, etc. They are about $23 for 75 capsules on Amazon- I have not found them cheaper. Since this particular vitamin also contains manganese and vitamin E (both have proven useful in some sufferers with RLS) this might be a better option than a straight B complex supplement. This fix may not work for everyone but it has for me. If I stop taking them the symptoms return. There are many other benefits of taking B vitamins as well. If anyone tries these please post and let us know how they worked.

Reason: to add information
Straight B complex should be taken in the morning on an empty stomach, at least the ones I have purchased at health food stores. the raw one vitamins I am now taking are a 'multi' and include other vitamins but this brand can also be taken on an empty stomach. There is a version for men. I am not taking mega doses, 100% of each B vitamin has worked for me. Please let me know if you have any luck with them, 3-4 days should be enough time to note a difference.
Many conventional medications reduce the absorption of nutrients. For example: Drugs that treat acid reflux or heartburn raise the pH environment of the upper GI tract, which reduces absorption of needed vitamins and minerals.. Something to think about...
