Acne or Rosacea? Read!

Read this:

[ removed - please carefully review the posting rules -
- not a permitted website - sells products - I know you were
only trying to help, but - this "non profit" site is actually a front
site for a commercial company selling acne and cellulite products
]

edit: ok well then I suggest an internet search for rosacea to find this information.

It seems that acne is a symptom of rosacea. Rosacea requires a different treatment than acne. There are many foods that affect rosacea flare-ups. Alcohol beng one of the main offenders. After reading all of this information I'm fairly certain my derm has not diagnosed me correctly and am fairly certain there are others out there who have also been misdiagnosed. After following some of the suggestions listed I have seen improvement in a short period of time.

Factors I've identified that affect me:

1. Alcohol
2. A really hard work out
3. Tomatoes (yeah tomatoes, which means no pizza, pasta sauce)

I'm fairly certain i've got more factors but haven't identified them yet.

Fixme -- I'm not quite sure what you don't agree with? that there is a skin disease out there called rosacea? That it's possible a derm made a misdiagnosis?

Season -- Rosacea manifests itself in a number of different ways

Re: Acne or Rosacea? Read!

boulder21 - you haven't listed enough detail for me to think you have rosacea.

Do the "Factors I've identified that affect me:" cause your face to flush? (even if transient?) What pattern? nose and/or cheeks?

I wouldn't agree that acne is a symptom of rosacea, but I do agree that they can coincide with one another.

I personally have extremely oily skin and rosacea (subtype papulopustular rosacea). Meaning my skin has redness, red bumps, and white/black heads.
