Post Rosacea

Just wondering if anyone on the board suffers from Rosacea and what products have helped them. I havn't seen much on the board about it. It never dawned on me that I had Rosacea. I went to a new dermatologist for acne which I've had for like 15 years (I'm 29 now), and he was like you have Rosacea. I thought he was crazy because know one else ever said that to me. But I tried the medication for a bit and you know what??? That redness on my face that I always had went away! How about that.

I use Plexion Cleanser 2x a day, metrolotion in the morning and finevin at night. Plus I use Plexion mask a couple of times a week for oiliness. Doesn't really work to well controling the oil.

Anyone else have any experiences with Rosacea??

Thumbs up

I have been on Doxycycline Monohydrate & Benzicline topical gel for about 2 months and it has done wonders. I also have a rx for Plexion face wash, but due to a lack of insurance (I have to fork out full price for these meds), I haven't had it filled yet. How do you like using Plexion? Is it harsh stuff?

I really like the Plexion. It is not harsh at all. Luckily I have very good ins. so it only costs me like $10 for the bottle. That will usually last about a month. I would definiatley recommend it.

Aloe Vera!!!

When I was first diagnosed, I was given metrocream which helped a bit. Once I knew what it was I started avoiding the heat, but my skin would still get red and I'd get Rosaceaa 'pimples' in the summer.

Recently, after discovering this board, I tried aloe vera gel. The results have been amazing. I'd apply at bedtime and the redness would be mostly gone by morning. The last few days I also stopped putting the Neutrogen multivitamin acne lotion on my cheek area and now my face isn't red at all. I'm actually startled by how white my face is each time I look in the mirror.
