I have had a skin condition on my face for about three years now and have been told by the doc that it's rosacea. If anyone knows of anything that can help this problem I would be very grateful. The antibiotic cream that used to clear it up doesn't work now.
Saw your question about rosacea. I drink nothing all day long except water. I have been this way all 35 years of my life. Needless to say, I have never, ever have any form of acne. Four years ago, my husband and children and I moved to a new home in a different town. The move was very stressful. Most of the packing was left up to me because of my husband's long work hours, etc. Shortly after the move, I noticed little red bumps along my chin. They didn't itch, but they did kinda hurt when I touched them. I went to my doctor. She gave me a cream called Lachydrin. As long as I kept this cream on my rash, the rash wouldn't flare up. This went on for two years. I just kept using the cream night and day. Finally, one weekend I decided to see what would happen if I didn't use the cream. You can imagine what my face looked like by Monday morning. It was so bad that I couldn't even go to work. Frantically I got an appt. with a dermotologist who finally diagnosed me with the dreadest rosacea. She gave me a regime of various creams and some sort of steroid/antibiotic to use probably for the rest of my life. A year later, my husband and I really wanted to have another child. I didn't want to be taking a strong antibiotic, and I also wanted to lose a few pounds. Accidentally I stumbled upon the famous cabbage soup recipe for dieting on the net. I tried it for five days straight. Talk about getting rid of anything you have in your system!!! I have not have rosacea since. My doctor couldn't believe it. Oh, by the way we now have two children, and I lost a few pounds because of the cabbage soup diet too! Try it. It might work for you!
Thanks for letting me know about the cabbage soup cure and congratulations being cured of rosacea.
I do like cabbage so might just give that a go as well. I know that cutting down on stress would also help. The rosacea probably got so bad because I lost my job suddenly in January and was out of work for about seven weeks, then we had to move house. This is when it got really bad. At the moment I have red lumps all over my cheeks and my nose. My nose goes bright red at times, other times it's okay. Rosacea definitely is related to stress.
Thanks again, and I'll keep you posted with anything positive that might happen in the new few weeks (hopefully something).
beejay. rosacea can be very difficult to treat and there is no known cure unfortunately, tho the condition can be managed. i would recommend you type into yr search engines the following: yahoo rosacea group and bfsforum, both are excellent sites to help with treatment advice.
Zinc must always be in balance with copper, otherwise you risk serious neurological side-effects. The usual maximum daily dosage is 50mg, and then for no more than one week at a time. Zinc toxicity is very well-documented.
This article explains recommended dosages, side-effects, signs of toxicity, etc.
