Rosacea treatment

Hi,
I'm am a long time suffer of rosacea. I get acne and/or red inflammed skin on my chin and nose. My dermotologist has prescribed a long term course (one to two years) of tetracycline. So far I havent been great at taking it, partly becouse it is expensive and becouse it is not readily avalible in Australia and I have to have it especially made up, so it is inconvient.
When I do take it my skin is better and as soon as I stop it flares again.
Has anyone else committed to this treatment? Is it worth me spending the huge amounts of money or will it just come back again as soon as I stop?
Thanks
jsfai

Re: Rosacea treatment

My husband has rosacea and some term that includes "rhino-something" because his nose gets bumps and very red. He uses emu oil soap and pure emu oil and it doesn't take long for it to go away. He uses the lotion during the day (so it doesn't look so oily) and the oil at night. Hope that helps.

Tetracycline controls it. It's not a cure. Also avoiding hot and spicy food and alcohol helps control the condition.
