Post Rosacea

I have rosacea and my dermatologist put me on metrocream. I feel this cream is making it worse. It itches and I have more areas that are red and with raised bumps (like acne). This is very frustrating. I was just wondering, I have been on 3 different kinds of birth-control with in this year. Could this have triggered this rosacea?

Hi! Recently went through your very unique town. Yes birth control pills are supposed to help your skin but in the case of roseasa they can hinder it. I use a special face wash called Specto Derm or Gel. It helps me alot. Also did the antibiotic route to no avail too. I also found using an non alcoholic toner helps me too. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Halie,

I used metrolotion for years, Applied it thin, and applied it thicker. It never calmed down my skin. Antibiotics were useless, too.

I had one laser (Not V beam) and never really could say that it improved. Now I'm considering the V Beam laser.

TwoKatss: I'd like to know about the specto derm wash. I'm at the point that I think I need to try facial products that aren't scripts.

I'm glad to see a Rosacea topic here!

Be well,
Her52

Specto derm or gel can be bought at any drug store or Walmart even. Not expensive. About $10.00 for a very large bottle. That is in Canada where I live. I use it every day ,morning and night I haven't had a break out in a long time. I think using the nonalcohol toner works too. That can be bought at the same places. I like "olay" toner. Just look for no alcohol. GOOD LUCK
