I have a friend who just found out he has Sarcoidosis. Four years ago he was in Bagdad with his Marine Corps unit. He was there for 9 months in that hot desert in a tank and it's territ. Could he have breathed in something there that has given him this disease? He has not been sick before that time.
He is also a smoker and 26 years old?

There is no known way to prevent sarcoidosis

It has been thought that there may be a hereditary factor because some families have multiple members with sarcoidosis

my mother and my aunt both has sarcoidosis and i have to get screened every year. it is most likely a hereditary thing.
