| Re: Sarcoidosis
I too have Sarcoidosis, I was diagnosed in 1991. I was running a low grade fever in the evenings about 101. My Ankles swelled all the way up to my knees. My Doctor did a (specific) blood test and found I had Lymes. I was put in the hospital for the swelling and while I was in there they did a routine Chest X-ray and discovered enlarged lymph nodes in my lungs. After an broncoscapy they diagnosed me with Sarcoid. I was never put on any treatment and haven't seen a Doctor for it since. The only real symptom I have is shortness of breath.
They told me that my symptoms of Lyme could be the Sarcoid as well. But I have never had a reoccurance of them. I was 28 when I was diagnosed and now am 46. I am concerned now because I have alot of joint pain in my legs and hips as well as all the rest of my joints . At the time I was told that Sarcoid would cause this as well as the Lyme. When I get up in the morning I hoble for my first few step from stiff ankles. I can't do alot of cleaning or manual labor. My body will tell me when to stop and if I don't my back will go into spasm and I will be incapasitated for a week. Right now I am not under a Doctors care but I am going to get an appointment as soon as possible. Although the only treatment they have is steroids and I don't want to take them. We'll see. I am concerned that by not seeing a Doctor regularly for this I may have mande my situation worse.
