Hello again- haven't been on this site for long time- had 2 surgeries for cancer(uterine and kidney) and then 2 surgeries for incisional hernias(not a great success). Am very worried for my 48 yr. old daughter diagnosed with sarcoidosis- has a total body rash, masses in her joints and internal organs, breathing problems, etc. She has allergy to prednisone. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANOTHER MEDICATION TO TREAT THIS.
Thanks- any info will be helpful.
Other medications used with or instead of prednisone include:
Methotrexate or azathioprine
Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine
Pentoxifylline and thalidomide
Various topical corticosteroids
There is a great website but I'm not sure if we are allowed to post web sites.
My mother is using Cortef instead of prednisone as cortef is more like the cortisol she is missing. It is easier for the body to handle. Is she allergic to cortef too?
