My friend sees things. She described to me that she sees people. All around one theme, death. She told me once that she was lying on her bed and looked down and at the foot of her bed were three men. One with a knife, one with a hatchet, and the other with a bullet whole in his head. They grabbed onto her legs and pulled are. She passed out and when she woke up she was in her bathroom.
Another incident she told me of was when she walked into her bathroom and saw herself in the bathtub, drowned in her own blood. Her hair was hanging out the side and dripping.
She hears voices that sound all raspy and scary. They tell her things like, "He's coming." "Sell your soul." "Your a nobody."
Just tonight she saw a little girl standing in her doorway that pointed at her and told her to die. And she heard blood on the walls whispering to her.
This has been happening for a year and a half she said.
Help us. Her parents are really mean to her and don't believe her. They hit her a lot, hence the mean part. I'm her only hope and I know I need to get her to a doctor a.s.a.p. But does this sound like Schizophrenia to you?
Thanks. She already goes to church and stuff. Yes, sometimes she hears girls talking to her.
I'm not religious so I don't believe in that stuff. All, needing an Exorsist. But, sometimes it really works. I don't know.
Only a psychiatrist can say for sure if it is schizophrenia. I have a degree in Psych and I know for a fact that a lot of stress and abuse can bring out these types of hallucinations. She must be very depressed and she probably has no sense of worth and that is why she keeps on seeing herself covered in blood and dying. Best advise I can give is to get your friend out of her abusive environment, even if you have to make an anonymous call to the local social services abuse dept or speak with a school guidance counselor. If she is over 18, she needs to check herself into a hospital even if she doesn't have insurance. Maybe you can take her. The hospital can even get her financial assistance from Social Security if she is mentally ill. If she goes untreated, she will definitely get worse and it will be harder for her to recover. The thing that scares me the most is that she may commit suicide and you will be left with this guilt for not doing anything to help her.
WEEEE! Guess what I did today!? I called a hotline and told "Jerry" all about this. She said that I was smart for thinking it could be Schizophrenia and that I told my friend to make a journal of everytime she sees/hears a hallucination.
My friend is going to call that hotline tonight and talk to "Jerry"....hopefully. She already has attempted suicide....kind of a lot. She's abused by her parents (but I read on many sites that you can't become a schizophrenic through abuse and stuff).
I'm glad you made the first step to help your friend get better. I just wanted to clarify that I didn't mean abuse and stress brings out symptoms of schizophrenia. I meant that if she is predisposed to the illness, meaning other people in her family history have it, then abuse and a lot of stress would bring it out. Schizophrenia is hereditary, also it can develop because of drug abuse.
