I need your feed back please! - Schizophrenia Message Board

Hi! i'm new here, so let me give you a breif history. I have been diagnosed bpd since i was 14. i am 21 now and nothing interests me more than the human mind and how it works. my husband is schizophrenic and bpd. i wish this board had a poll option, but i cant seem to find one. SO! if you could please tell me which of the following best decribes you i would appreciate it so much. after i get some results i'll explain more. i dont want to influence your answers in anyway.

How does your brain 'think'?

1. When i recall memories, i can see them playing in my head like a movie
2. When i recall memories, i can hear them playing like a radio
3. When i recall memories, i can both see and hear them [please specify which is more predominate]

no one can really answer that accurately. I'd suggest buying a basic college psych book and you will learn a lot about that topic.
Memory is not like a movie because it is broken into pieces. Different areas of the brain process vision, hearing, sight, etc. So memory are broken into different components and stored in the corresponding area of the brain.

sure it can. yes while your brain does process different things differently.. it can bank memory of smells and all that jazz, but i'm talking about in general when people think, they either see what they're thinking or hear it or both. i've found that most people with schizophrenia that i ask predominately hear their thoughts in their brain, not see them. i was asking to see if there was a link between how the brain predominately thinks [ie sound] and the adverse affects it could have [other voices other than your own]
