This may be a stupid question...but what is schizophrenia? I've heard of it but I don't know exactly what it does to you.

Hello Ashlee,
I grew up with a mother diagnosed with paranoid schitz. I don't have all the answers, nor do I know myself exactly what schitz is, but I know what it does.

First of all, I know that it is a mental related disorder. It has something to do with the persons brain, and something isn't quite right. It causes the person to see, hear and think things that aren't really there or haven't happened. Read my post on schitz, and read my second reply. It explains some of the things my mother has done when she is ill.

My son has this too and We tried to get him committed once at a hospital, We made a mistake not knowing the way to do this. You need a criseces center person to help you fill out the paper work,this is a must,we the hospital gives you a form to fill out and it says in what detail has the person in question has been doing, then it means that,so if the person has been talking to walls and to people that are not really there then you have to put that on the form and any other things that have happened, and things like if the person has threated sucide or wanting to kill other people then you have to be specifeic about it, If you leave this stuff out then that person can sign him or her self out in 3 days and you r back at square 1 again.right now my son is in jail for varouis thing he has done. Now whether he will get the help he needs we won't know because in the courts eyes he is an adult now, he's 20 yrs old, but he has been acting like he's 6 or 7. The police have told us we r not responsable for what he does now but he my fleash and blood so what do I do ,I guess what and see for now.

( ok this is kinda the God/ Devil version on this subject. i dont know if i am right or wrong and im sorry to offend anyone who doesnt believe in God or the Devil. )

Schizophrenia is when a demon or evil spirit enters your body and makes you think there are things or people there that arent there. or from what ive heard its where you have more than 1 personality. u and that demon(s). for example there is personality 1 and personality 2 if personality 1 is in control personality 2 doesnt know what personality 1 is doing so when personality 1 finaly takes over again it doesnt remember what personality 2 has done. a schitzo can have more than one personality or demon possesing their body. it all depends on what happens. this is only what i have heard i am not sure if this is tru or if its a bunch of bull shizz but i, personally, believe that. but i also believe in God Devil demons and possesion all that stuff. haha hope that you find out what u wanted to know. (silent im really sorry about your mother, i hope she gets better sum day
