let me explain to you what schizophrenia is. at least what studies and neurosciences have discovered up until now.

as far as i know, there is no such knowledge of a study about religious factors to schizophrenia. factors for schizophrenia are, most commonly, predisposition( which is the genetic factor), and environmental factors including stress at work or at home. although the environmental factors are not fully understood, i dont believe religion has any factor what so ever determining whether you are gonna have schizophrenia or not. it is all in the mind, and is all predisposed. pre-schizophrenics show signs of mental or neurological disfuction while they are infants and in their toddler years.

some studies on how schizophrenia is caused have found very interesting points of the possibilities of how it may be caused. on estudy i know about was the World War 1 influenza outbreak. there was a study of how many pregnant women in the outbreak who were effected with influenza, had schizophrenic children. the study showed that 75% the the pregnant women who were in their 2nd Trimester of pregnancy, either had schizophrenic offspring, or offspring who were predisposed of it(meaning somewhere along the line of the bloodline resulted in schizophrenic illnesses).
it is also that the 2nd trimester of pregnancy is when the fetus begins its neurological development. a virus interfering with this develpment can cause the neurons in the fetus to be delayed and can cause a number of different mental illnesses.

remember JMR. environmental factors are very uncomprehensible by all neuroscientists and psychologists. i'm not saying that there was no such study of religion factors for schizophrenia however i highly doubt it, but you never know. there are alot of very complex and difficlut studies on schizophrenia because they are trying to solve the issue for a possible prevention procedure or even a cure.

this book is by far the best book to read of you want to understand schizophrenia on a present point of view with the latest discoveries of the illness, and the scientific facts of the illness.
