My friend started acting paranoid a year ago. At first she was okay but then she started telling me things that i feel are just not happening. I want to believe her but some things she thinks are going on i cant imagine really happening. I always thought her perception had been a little off but now i dont know. So anyway she thinks people are following her all the time, and if we are in the car she is constantly looking behind her (everytime!) . Also she will randomly laugh out loud for no reason and i will ask why shes laughing and she'll either say 'nothing' or 'i just thought of something funny' but its CONSTANT she does this, if we're on the phone or in the car. And she doesnt want to go out anywhere because she thinks that everyone in the bar knows her because her boyfriend "spread rumors" about her and everyone there "thinks shes a ****" she says she keeps a flashlight in hr room so she can let people that are "following her" know she knows...she thinks a big group of kids are making up rumors about her. I know that alot of these things sound like they might be possible cuz they have happend to people but I KNOW THIS ISNT HAPPENING TO HER! Our only conversation has been this topic for A YEAR! this is the only thing she talks about! and im the only one she really tells. But she doesnt want to get help. She will go up to people and ask "have you heard anything about me?" she brought her lamp from her room to the police station to see if it was tapped and she had them check her car too. As far i know i dont know if she hears voices. But she says she "knows things and doesnt know how she knows them" I dont think she has hallucinations, but im sure theres things she doesnt tell me because she knows that i will just say its not true or its a crazy idea. Am i just being a bad friend by not believeing her??? also she thinks that this kid her sister is dating from towns away is being set up with her sister by her boyf to ruin her life.....dont know if that makes sense. but she continues to talk to her boyf even tho she thinks hes spreading rumors but she will say "these kids are ruining my life" and ill ask who these kids are and she'll say "i dont know" she wants to move to florida because she thinks that it will be better for her. But if this is a mental problem its only going to follow her. She is CONSUMED by this for a year now.....when we have a conversation she sometimes just sits there like she wasnt even listening to anything i said and she'll say "whaaat?" like all air heady. She doesnt have problems bathing. In conversations she doesnt explain sentences fully sometimes, or they just dont make sense. she takes adderall and she doesnt need it she just wanted it to "get motivated" and thats when this all started happenng when she started to take it a year ago....and at first she got reaaaaalllly skinny then all these paranoid thoughts started. Theres a bunch of other crazy paranoid things shes told me. please if anyone knows what this sounds like any help is appreciated. Thanks.
