Serious Pain!

I had surgery over 10 years ago for my scoliosis. I was in middle school and didn't have much say if I could have it or not. My parents just decided that was the best option. But now, 10 years later I am seriously wondering if that was the best thing?! I was very active a year after surgery. Throughout high school I ran track and swam on the swim team. However, now I have been having serious sharp pains all throughout my back. Somtimes a burning pain, somtimes a stabbing pain, and sometimes a tingling pain that runs down my legs, into my arms and also up into my neck. I stopped running about a year ago because I started to feel weird after I ran, like something was moving. Since I have been so active throughout these past 10 years everyone doesn't believe the serious pain I am having. Does any one else have pains like these? I'm starting to get really scared and I do not know what to do?! The pains are so bad they bring tears to my eyes. I've also had serious headaches as well that are shooting pains throughout my head, I'm not sure if these are related to one another?

Re: Serious Pain!

I am assuming you had the rods placed on both sides of your spine?
I was diagnosed when I was 13 with a "S" curve, the worst was 60 degrees. That was 36 years ago. The doctors told my parent's I needed surgery and we opted for the brace instead. I was never a faithful wearer, but it did correct to 45 degrees. I am 49 now, and have some pain but not much. I am still very active, play golf, ride my horse etc.
If you are having weird pain and sensation, I would see a doctor. My cousins wife had the rods put in her back and one came loose. Nothing bad happened, but they had to go back in and fix it. Just go have it checked. It may be nothing.
