Yes sounds like beta blocker withdrawal. I would taper the dose in increments of 1/2 at one week time intervals. This will reduce your symptoms.

What have you tried?? ACE inhibitors (lisinopril), angiotensin receptor blockers (losartan) are good choices. Yes, you could also try a diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide). These are all good choices.
