Over time, you will get used to it and it'll feel normal. When I got crowns on some teeth, it felt weird for a while, but you get used to it.

If the dentist doesn't wear gloves or a mask, then I would also have concerns about the sterility of the dental equipment. It's a risk you probably shouldn't take ... I say, find another dentist.
