Re: Do I REALLY need shoulder surgery???

I would continue on enjoying my life. You are not in pain. You can do what you want to do. Why would you take a risk to change that?
I am 57 and had a severe injury almost 4 years ago, rotator...

I always get all my notes and reports - it helps to understand what all was done. And having a good therapist is critical!

Re: surgery block just wore off + i'm in horrible pain

The immediate period after shoulder surgery is very painful, but short-lived. Usually, two 5mg of percocet every 4 hrs. will handle the worst of it. Having been through this several times, in my...

When do you go back to see the doc? Be sure to get a copy of your operative note. Did you have a rotator cuff repair? Or? Are you doing any kind of therapy?

Re: surgery block just wore off + i'm in horrible pain

Yes it is. I was in the hospital after my most recent replacement. The block wore off early, and all I had on order was tylenol. It took hours for the pain service to get there and get a rescue...

very normal. keep taking the pain meds on schedule. Do not fall behind. You should be able to use ice. Use it - it really helps control post op pain. What did you have done? I've had 6...

Hang in there. Yes, I think that cutting back on PT is probably a good idea. My PT is only to do very simple stretching for 6 weeks - hardly worth going to the office for that but i have to. I...

Re: Can "muggles" really know how we feel?

Good imagery.
I have a "friend" who not only took it upon herself to call one of her friends, a nurse, to discuss my situation, but also said "So how does it feel to think of yourself as disabled? ...
