Bindar is spot on. Yours sounds like a textbook case of migrainous vertigo. Do a search for the MAV Survival Guide to learn how you can rein this thing in. It's completely treatable.

It sounds to me it's just what the doctor told him - labyrinthitis. Mine started out in a similar way. I just woke up one morning and was dizzy then it got worse as the day progressed...

Perilymphatic fistula and Meniere's disease

Thought I'd also put this one up. I haven't heard of PLF before but maybe this information may help someone who was misdiagnosed with Meniere's (which seems to happen a lot) but in fact has PLF.
