Re: Bummer, huge bummer, :(.

I am so sorry Faith mum.

I didn't reply before to your question on calcium channel blockers - the medication can be used for epilepsy I think, - some epilepsy medicine is used for RSD. We don't...

Collecting Information

Would it be a good idea for people to write down what has worked for them in one thread - they could just cut and paste from old threads if they want, to save time. it's just that new people come...

Re: Seeking more info...

Check with the doc if you've been having the right PT for a torn tendon, since it was discovered after the PT started. Check if the PT could have worsened the pain if inappropriate. Ask for the...

Re: Just diagnosed and scared

Vitamin C was also something we used in my son's general recovery plan and still do if he gets twinges. It's soluble so any excess leaves the body . He didn't get the runs with too much although...

Re: New CRPS person

Hi, my son seems pretty much better after getting to the point where he was using a wheelchair off and on and although some people will say it's just a remission, I can't see it recurring. He's a...

Re: Just diagnosed and scared

I find quick reply best!
'trying ( unsuccessfully ) to make a fist' This is not unsuccessful, this is maintaining your muscles. Keep going! Watch what's happening to your body very carefully. ...

Re: Too all rsd sufferers

There's also something about magnets encouraging the mixed up collagen from scar tissue to grow straight again and the nerve growth follows the nerves, so they might interlink less. I can find the...

Re: Feet look just awful, anyone see a foot type of dr for help?

A bit worried about giving a reply, because my son's symptoms weren't quite like this - more pain and electric shock burns, but it helped him a little to soak his foot daily in warm water for 5-10...

Re: Some of my toes are curling under, is this permanent?

My son's toes stopped working and then started going a funny shape - each day we'd get him to try to wrap them around my finger (not going beyond what he could do without restarting the \RSD pain)...

Hyperbaric oxygen

I think this is sometimes used to help RSD, but it's old research and very contentious as to whether its a con. Just posting this for information because of my view that some RSD is associated with...

Re: For the newly diagnosed!

My son of 11 had RSD for 1 1/2 years. Starting towards the beginning of the summer, things started to improve, through giving the body a chance to both calm down and to heal, taking supplements and...

Re: question for spouses fighting RSD

When my kid gets hurt again, I get angry with the situation and irritable. He's an amazing kid though and seems to show much more maturity than me at getting through.

Re: Can anyone help?

I'm sorry to hear about your injury Ashlee and I don't know much about RSD - but have you asked your Doctor about high ankle sprain? Apparently it takes longer to heal than normal ankle sprain. ...

Does less sleep make you feel less pain?

I thought this was interesting because the MRI on my son’s ankle showed up something that could be diagnosed as either osteoporosis or RSD (or both).

And here we have leptin, an appetite...
