Re: The Smallest thing set my mood off

Some great info from the posts above!

I'd definitely check in with your doctor on what you are feeling. Having BP stinks...having anxiety stinks...having both together? Well, it doubly stinks! ...

Re: dissapointment with support group

Have you checked around to see if there are any other support groups in the area? In my area, there are three that meet and have folks in various stages of BP. Check around and don't give up hope!

Re: Spouse triggering anxiety attacks

I second Jonnstar's comment. You need to be seeing someone together. Remember, nobody can cause you to "feel" a certain way. You can be put into a situation where you react and your mood changes.

Re: Anxiety: keep thinking "what if I am bipolar?!"

I'm a little more unique than your average bipolar person. I rapid cycle, so my moods change more often. Very rarely do I go into a deep depression or a hyper manic episode, but when I do it...

Re: Anxiety: keep thinking "what if I am bipolar?!"

It might have been the birth control that caused you to feel this way. I'm not a doctor, but it may take a while for the effects to wear off. Has your anxiety gotten any better or worse? As for...

Re: Bipolar and thinking of stopping meds

Yeah, several doctors are now shying away from Lithium...but, it still works wonders. I take Lithium and Seroquel XR. They compliment each other very well. Lithium keeps my breakthrough highs in...

Re: Always Doing Reality Checks

Keep working with your therapist on becoming more comfortable with your decisions. I have BP and PTSD and used to constantly question my actions. Group therapy helped me a lot. I still have points...

Re: Stopping 7 months of taking .5 Ativan every night

.5 of Ativan is a very, very low dose. You could probably just go off it, but splitting the pill down to .25 may help.

Re: trileptal isn't working

Keep a mood chart and share it along with your feeling about the meds you are on. There are many other medications the doctor can try you on. Keep working with him/her.

Re: seroquel xr questions?

I've found that portioning out things before hand helps. I have small snacks set up like:

-1/4 cup of almonds in a ziplock
-1/4 cup glass cups with chocolate pudding (I make mine with soy milk)...

Re: seroquel xr questions?

Seroquel XR works to manage my mood swings nicely, but does leave me with the desire to eat a half gallon of ice cream! At low doses, it works fantastically to make me sleep but leaves me with a...

Re: just diagnosed

Stu:

This definitely sounds like reflux. All of the symptoms you are experiencing definitely point to it. You're currently on 20mg of Omprazole. Have you asked the doctor if you can raise it to...

Re: bipolar/sad/useless

Hang in there. It sounds like you're deeply depressed. I'd make an appointment with your Pdoc. Using too much Klonapin can cause a mood shift in us to depressed.

Re: I feel like I'm dying. Please Help. Withdrawl.

The Zoloft is probably kicking in. You have no insurance, but do you have access to a public hospital? You can be seen there. Plus, you can ask for a generic medication. Most generic...

Re: Bipolar Disorder - or Not?

Just realize that you are a whole person. Bipolar is a very small part of the whole picture. Finding the right Pdoc is a good first step. After that, working as a team to find the "happy medium"...

Re: i'm just reaching out

Wow. I'm sorry to hear about what your mom did. Things have definitely changed since then. Most inpatient these days is limited to 5 days. After that, there is usually an Outpatient Patient...

Re: advanced gerd

I've not had it, but several of my family members have (including my father). It is bad scarring of the esophageal tissue causing a change in the skin cells. The most common cause is acid reflux...

Re: Burning chest and LPR

If PPI's are not working for you, consider an H2 blocker like Zantac 150. As for red eyes, acid can pass up and into the nasolacrimal tear ducts leading to the eye from your sinuses. This is...

Re: Finding it hard to deal with anxiety....I'm stuck.

Atarax (Hydroxizine) will most definitely work, but it will make you very drowsy. I took it for 2 weeks while waiting for the Paxil to come up to optimal blood levels, which significantly curbed my...
