Breaking Point

I've suffered from anxiety for years. As a child, I was always anxious about losing those I loved, because I experienced many deaths at a young age. In my 20's, it became inwardly focused. My first...

Re: Anxiety Stress from Work

As much as I don't like hearing this recommendation myself, the best way to know for sure is to check with your doctor. A clean bill of health can at least take the concern of more serious issues off...

Observations on heart rate

I've noticed a peculiar shift recently in my resting heart rate. It seems to have slowed down. Only an anxiety sufferer would complain about something that would be considered to be a good thing. ;)...

Re: Activan/loprazolam question

I take .5mg of Ativan. My script reads "up to twice a day, as needed." Some days, I don't take any. Some days, I take it all. Your best bet is to check with the doctor's office that wrote the script....

Re: about bile reflux .

Bile reflux has been on my mind a lot lately.

Bile is released by the liver and stored in the gallbladder to help digest fat. The gallbladder releases the bile when you eat fatty foods. If you...

Re: Newly Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I was also recently diagnosed. It's definitely not something I would wish on anyone.

My blood sugar dropped like a rock when I cut out carbs almost completely. ...

Re: First Steps, Tests

Hi again. Just wanted to post an update. I realize I sounded pretty depressed before. I can't say I'm dancing a jig at the moment, but there's been some progress.

For one thing, my blood sugar is...

Re: First Steps, Tests

Thanks, SamQKitty, and everyone who has posted. I'm in shock, which I'm sure is common at the beginning. And being an analytical thinker, I immediately start to ponder all of the worst case...

Re: First Steps, Tests

I think the test you mentioned is the one we are waiting for. My appointment is Monday morning. I'm just concerned that they're so high and not really coming down despite me drinking plenty of water...

Re: First Steps, Tests

Well the initial bloodwork came back and it was at 340. That's with nothing on my stomach but what I mentioned before, plus some water. The one test they were really wanting, the three month history,...

Re: First Steps, Tests

Thank you, I appreciate that. I'm as calm as can be. I took an Ativan earlier which helped. I wonder if that caused the spike to 400? Anyway tests are done just waiting on results to see if they're...

Re: First Steps, Tests

Thank you. I took it easy on breakfast this morning; had a toaster scramble with just 2g of sugar and some decaf coffee. Also had three glasses of water. Two hours after I ate I tested again: 400!...

Re: First Steps, Tests

Well this morning the number is not what I hoped for: 304. That was without any food for a little under 8 hours and with definite clean hands and alcohol wipes and so forth. Time for that phone call.

First Steps, Tests

Hello. New guy here.

I've been doing some reading, and thought I'd post here to vent some of my worries. I don't like the odds at this point, so it's just a waiting game.

I'm 33 and pretty...
