Re: Hernia mesh failure and coughing blood

Never play around with coughing up blood. That is never a good sign. He needs to call in to get an appointment ASAP... Probably should go to the ER imo... That can be seriously life threatening.

Re: Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair 4 weeks ago

I had pain for several months after mine, which was a traditional non mesh repair. Eventually it became non existent, but it did take a long time for it to completely heal up. I was mostly pain free...

Re: Where to go for non-mesh repair

If you have insurance, try to get a referral from your primary care doctor. If not, and you can make a trip to Vegas, and can afford to pay or finance around $4k, depending on the hernia, look up 'no...

Re: To Mesh or Not to Mesh?

Go with traditional. I did and I am glad I did. The big problem with mesh is that some people react to it, but not until it's embedded in your body. Once it's embedded its not coming out... And you...

Re: Para umbilical hernia and want a baby

My guess is that you risk reopening the hernia. Hernias take a long time to fully heal, and a baby would most likely cause complications with it.

I would ask the doctor what could happen to be...

Re: inquinal double hernia

Oh and by the way... Don't not get it done... It will only get worse and it can turn into a life threatening condition if you ignore it. Your intestines could end up twisted and circulation cut off...

Re: inquinal double hernia

Hernia surgery typically isn't a big deal. I would highly recommend avoiding the mesh if at all possible, as some people get reactions to it, but you won't know until it's embedded and can't be taken...

Re: Hernia or Something Else

I didn't know I had an inguinal hernia for a few years after the even that caused it... I would lean more towards a possible hernia myself. The only way to tell though is to talk to a medical doctor....

Re: Inguinal hernia repair - Hurts 3 years later?

Unfortunately I am not sure about the bladder thing... some people take a lot longer than others to fully heal. Sounds to me like it might have torn away some scar tissue around the bladder area... I...

Re: Post op advice please

Just take it real easy. Maybe find someone or a place that can work on your back while sitting up (as long as sitting up isn't a problem). The key is to just take it very easy for the next couple...

Re: Still in pain 3 years later

Hopefully you got some answers but it sounds like a problem with the mesh to me... unfortunately the meshes are known to sometimes cause problems in some people but not in others.

Re: Why am I still in pain?

Unfortunately it sounds like it might be the mesh, or maybe nerve damage...

Definitely get a second opinion. Many doctors have no respect for women... It's sad really.

Re: Inguinal hernia repair - Hurts 3 years later?

I would say definitely take it easy for a while. I experience a little tenderness still from time to time 3 years out from my own inguinal Hernia repair, also traditional non mesh. I think it just...

You have to learn to step back and let her be herself....
