That is a common fracture and ususally treated without surgery when possible.
Yours seems to be taking a little longer than "usual" but remember every fracture is different and everyone heals...

Stress fractures heal at different rates for different people.
If it feeling better after 4 weeks, you sound like you are well on your way to full recovery. Very few are 100% after 4 weeks!
