Unhappy Re: Getting Rid of Scars?

I'm 17. Have been cutting myself since I was 9.
My mum still doesn't know.
The only thing I worry about it her finding out.
I wish I had never done it on my arms as its the only place I find it hard to hide from her.
I would give the world to get rid of the scars on my arms.
I don't care about the rest on my body....she can't see them.
Please help me.

Re: Getting Rid of Scars?

i've tried everything -- nothing will make bad scares go away. all that vitamin e, cocoa butter, scar minimizing treatments and creams. And yet, evern though i know there is nothing else i can do for it, I still cannot accept they will not go away. i consider them my only flaw, covering my right thigh. if ever noticed, i make up some ******** story about being stuck on a fence, or being dragged by a car. no one believes it, but some people pretend to:0)

good luck everyone!

Re: I would give the world to get rid of the scars on my arms.

Hey everyone. I'm a bit older than some of you and my scars are more than 15 years old now. You didn't say how deep, big, or long the scars on you arms were but I once asked a dermatologist about my scars, showed them to her and told them how they got there (razor cutting) and she told me they could be 'fixed' with skin graphs. She told me they could take skin from other parts of my body not exposed to the world and use that for the graph.

I just thought I would share this information, that it might be possible to have something done as you sound desperate.

Re: I would give the world to get rid of the scars on my arms.

Thankyou for that info.
Its not 100% practical though, but definately worth a thought.
My scars are the length of my forearm, pretty deep and caused by a scalple.
I guess I should see what the doctor says....

I haven't been caught yet but I've been so close hand I'm thinking about teling because I don't want this to go on. It's like a drug.
