Honestly, if your not willing to go to a therapist for help, it will be hard to stop because it is a form of an addiction. It's how you've trained your mind and body to deal with inner pain and turmoil, and that's not so easy to stop doing on your own.
You can try and do some research on the web on DBT Therapy, thats the way that most people stop self harming, it teaches you positive ways to deal with things as opposed to cutting or hurting yourself.
