rough night

Today has been extremely tough. As the day went on it's only gotten worse. I've not cut in two days, until tonight that is. I just wish it was easier to stop.

Re: rough night

Yeah it does suck that this is such an addictive behavior. When you get the urge, just try to push it out of your head with other thoughts....a silly movie you've seen, a good meal you've had recently, actually focus on each and every dish, resavor the flavors, a good book you've read...things like that...try to make your mind focus in a totally different direction.

Are you seeing a counselor?

Re: rough night

I've been doing different things to take my mind off of it. But the urge is extremely strong tonight.

I had a counselor. I was really close with her. But my insurance changed and I've not been able to find anyone who takes my new insurance. I've not seen anyone in over a month.

Re: rough night

Is there anyway that you could just go to sleep? Do you have any meds that help you sleep? I know this isn't a permanent solution, but for really bad nights, until you get back with some help...it beats sitting up all night fighting with yourself.

Re: rough night

I take seroquel for sleep. Even though its a heavy dose, it doesn't always help. I only sleep every three days or so. And I slept last night. I've taken my pills but I can't sleep right now.

Re: rough night

Yeah, Seroquel has never made me sleepy and i was up to 1200mg a day at one point. I tend to have the opposite reaction to meds that make most people sleepy, they keep me awake, it's not fun.

Re: rough night

Yeah, I'm the same way. I'm on over 2,000 mg. I've been on it for so long I'm used to it I think.

Re: rough night

Hey, just wanted to check in and see how the rest of your night went and make sure you made it through okay. Give me a yell if you want to talk about it.

Re: rough night

I did. the urge wont go away though. It just keeps getting stronger and stronger by the minute. Don't know if I can deal with it much longer.
