Low Testosterone at 65 years old

I am going to my doctor soon. I am going to ask him to test for low testosterone. I just do not have any energy. My joints ache. There are days when my memory is shot and I lose the ability to spell very easy words. It makes my job very hard since I do a lot of writing. My sex drive has decreased and when having sex it takes a very long time to reach climax. I understand am not 25 and accept it. I have gained weight around the middle and have mood swings. Someone told me to check with my doctor about testosterone levels. Am I barking up the wrong tree here?

Re: Low Testosterone at 65 years old

Hi Rio2007..I think in many ways that you are barking up the wrong tree. As far as forgetting things, we all do this. As far as climaxing, this fact of life I have also noticed in my husband. As far as your sex drive decreasing, this too, is a part of the male's advancing age. However, it is up to the female to take over in this capacity. Here she must keep you alive. It's just life. Now, gaining weight is another problem. Take it off. It not only makes you feel better, but more youthful and fit for love. Who knows, you may need Testosterone, but IMO, this is but a tip of this problem you face. Self confidence in yourself cannot be purchased. This is part of the reward from achieving all of the above.

Try not to write so much. Smell the roses. Older age can truly be the best time in your life. My best to you. ILD

Re: Low Testosterone at 65 years old

My husband is 75 and his sex drive has declined slowly over the years. We manage to make love every two or 3 months.
