I am 30 years old and divorced in the past 2 years. When married, I enjoyed an active sex life with my wife and aside from occasions marked by overabundant alchohol consumption or extreme fatigue I did not have a problem maintaining an erection. However, after the divorce, I discovered that I had serious performance anxiety issues. In intimate situations with women I found I would be obsessing about my ability to get an erection. During foreplay I would think, "Why am I not hard dammit!?". My inability to have an erection was stressful and humiliating and I found that I would actually avoid situations where sex could ensue. Suddenly sex was no longer an activity associated with pleasure but a requirement or duty that I was no longer able to meet! Finally I decided to try Viagra and it has been an amazing experience. The first time I took it was 30 minutes before my partner and I began to engage in sexual activity. It seemed like it wasn't making a bit of difference and I thought despairingly that there was absolutely no hope for me. But 20 minutes later it hit. My arousal was unhibited. I realized that my penis was its own entity which merely responded to stimuli the way it should and I didn't have to "think" myself hard. I was suddenly relaxed and the sex was beautiful. Since then, my confidence has soared and I've decreased the dosage to 25 mg with the same positive effect. I am hoping that soon I will not need the drug at all. It's possible that perhaps I am already at that point but I don't want to ruin a good thing. Anyway, that's my story. There is no sense living with something that can be corrected.
