Lightbulb women and viagra

I am a 24 year old female who has some sexual dysfuncion issues. First of all I am a psychology student and that is one of my areas of study is sexual dysfunction of women and men (more of the female aspect though). I have researched sexual dysfunction until I was blue in the face. In my studies I have found one area of interest. Viagra use in women. Two very known doctors, Laura Berman, Ph.D and Jennifer Berman, M.D., have done research in their clinic, the Center for Pelvic Medicine at UCLA with viagra.

In men, sildenafil (Viagra) blocks enzymes that usually prevents erections. When a man is aroused nitric oxide is released and other reactions occur by cGMP (I can't remember what that stands for without getting up and checking that)and this causes the tissue in the penis to dialate causing blood flow. But if a man has difficulty retaining an erection, that is caused by another enzyme called PDE5 that kind of eats up the cGMP. Okay...basically Viagra blocks the PDE5 from eating the cGMP Pac-Man style.

In a women, Viagra or sildenafil, increases the blood flow in the vagina, clitoris, etc. Basically doing the same thing only different. But the drug isn't approved for women yet so insurance won't cover it and it is possible if your pharmacist isn't up to date on their research they won't fill the order (if you have a nice doctor that is up to date in his or her research they might prescribe it in your significant others name like my doctor did).

My point I'm trying to make, is that Viagra works for women to....to an extent. Viagra is more for medical issues and not psychological issues (you would need a therapist for that), but if you have both it could help. I'm not saying that it wouldn't help at all if you had psychological issues, I'm sure it does to an extent, but women with medical issues such as damage to the nerves due to let's say a straddle injury or tearing while giving birth may benefit a lotmore than a person who has been sexually traumatized by rape or molestation (if you can't get aroused and have an orgasm and you have been sexually traumatized, there are way deeper issues and Viagra probably will not help).

I just wanted women to know that Viagra has been studied in women with pleasing results. I'm sorry if I bored everybody, but like I said I just wanted women to know that Viagra is an option. I've used it before with good results (I do have some medical and mental issues...more mental). When I took it, I was more sensitive to everything, and that was good. The only side effects I had was a flushed face and sometimes in the morning I had a headache (the first time I used it the next morning I felt like I had a bad hangover, but it passed..no nausea or anything just a headache for a few hours)

Just remember that just because you take Viagra doesn't mean you'll become instantly horny.

Feel free to ask more questions.

Kim

Hi Kim,

I read with interest your interest in Viagra. I will tell you I was using V the day after it was released. One of my men friends was on the waiting list for it and we had a "Viagra Party" that lasted 14 hours.
I have always been slow to get started and I knew that my blood circulation "down there" was not what it should be. I have no mental issues but have been disappointed so much in the past that I decided that since it helped men that I would try it and see what would happen.
Well, the only word that applies is "WOWIE"..I had so many organisms all night that I was so weak I had to stay in bed and sleep for about 10 hours.
Yes, I had a hangover too. But since then I have found out (for me anyway) that 50mg is more than enought.
The full dose of 100mg is just too much for me (and many of my men friends also).
I have girlfriends that have tried it and it helped about 3 out of 7 girls. The others it did nothing for.
There are new creams and other things coming out for women in the near future. I will be ready to try them also.
Cheers.
P.S. I started using it when I was 34 y/o.

My doctor said Viagra does not help women. He gave me testosterone cream which works sometimes. I really want to try that Viagra now. I just gotta get my hands on some. How long does it take before it works? Stacey
