penile implant

I am 34 yrs old married male, have question regarding penile implant. i know its too young to raise this query but it seems that my erectile dyfunctional problem is not curable. Now, doctors have suggested me to undergo penile implant surgey.
my question is
a) i am planning to go for malleable rod option. Will this be sufficient for performing intercourse.
b) Will the material implanted sets the alarms during airport screening?
c) Does this hamper the ability to father a child in any way or it is like person with normal organ??
d) With the time passes, does the implanted material's parts flow into body causing damage?? I mean is there any long term disadvantage/harm to body if this surgey is undertaken??
e) In Sauna or locker rooms, will other people notice easily that i have penile implant???

pls help me with your suggestions as persons who have already done this implant or have experience, pls share ur thoughts.
thanks a millions.

Re: penile implant

What were your considerations in having the maleable rod implant as opposed to a 2 or 3 piece AMS or Mentor. The rod is bendable, so you'll be able to bend it down so that it's not as noticeable, but it is a permanent erection, whereas the fluid-based ones give you a normal appearance. The technology is so much improved, I'm not sure that the rod is the best option.

Yes, you should be able to father children. If you still have your prostate, testicles, etc. and are producing semen, then you'll ejaculate just as though you had a normal erection.

No, the device will not come apart or go into your body. You'll have no problems like that.

As far as being obvious in the gym...since the rod is a permanent stiffness, it may be more noticeable, but again, it's bent down and under, as I understand it, when you don't want it sticking out in a position for intercourse.

Be sure and do some research online.. any search engine should come up with several options for you to find answers to your questions.

Re: penile implant

Thanks Doj, Your reply means a lot to me. Best thanks again.
a) Regarding choice for malleable rod option, one reason is low cost and 2nd reason is that I want to avoid too many mechanical parts inside the body.

b) One important query I had is detection at airports during security check as it could be embarrasing to set the alarms due to implant. Do malleable rod or pump option get noticed??
Do we have to look for certain material for the penile implant or most will be same type of material?
Looking forward to ur reply again.

Thanks

Re: penile implant

I'm sorry I can't answer your question about the airport security. I haven't flown since I had mine done, but there is little if any metal involved in it. As for the rod you're getting, I'm not sure what kind of metal it's made of.

Your concern about too many mechanical parts is understandable, but I think even the rod is subject to failure over the long term. Have you done any research on that option? As to the cost, my insurance company covered all but $100.00 of the cost, which was over $32,000. Have you checked with your insurance company?
