What to take to increase testosterone and reduce estrogen

Does anyone know what would be helpful in increasing testosterone and reducing estrogen in a man? Perhaps a supplement that is hormone balancing? My dh suffers from low testosterone really bad and he's looking for ways to increase is sex drive. He is very sexually inhibited in a sense that he enjoys sex, as long as he doesn't have to initiate it or even mention it.

Anyhow. Any suggestions anyone? Herbs, vitamins, supplements, minerals.....? What has worked for you?

Thanks

Hi Vodoo,
Try Paravol but it takes a while to kick in. I've been on it 5 days (previously tried Vitex but it stopped working) and I see some subtle changes but it takes a few weeks to see the "initial" results. I may start a "log" here is there is an interest in it. So far, no real side effects as the dose is low.

you asked a right question and a wrong question. what makes you think his estrogen is high? too low of estrogen will leave you with no libido no matter how much testosterone is flowing through your viens. there are supplements at the sports nutrition stores that have items that "free up" testosterone that is being wasted by being bound to sbgh. this will cause an increase in libido, strength, mood, energy. tribulus is an herb that is available also in the sports nutrition stores. goto a decent sports nutrition store, NOT your run of the mill gnc and ask for something that frees up testosterone. nitric oxide can also help.

They make a gel for men ( my husband takes it ) It is called Androgel ( it is testorone) It is prescribed by a dr. and it has really helped my husband. I wish you luck, I know from experience that having a husband with little to no sex drive really sucks

Re: What to take to increase testosterone and reduce estrogen

My sex drive has never been low, but it has dropped with age (now 62). I started taking DHEA in January. I got the Natrol 25mg DHEA and split the pills into 6 mg pieces (1/4 pill). It helped a little, so I tried 12mg (1/2 pill) and my libido went way up. I was all over my wife throughout the day and had to be careful when we went shopping, as any good looking woman that we passed had the potential to embarass me. I even got a few zits, so it must have raised my T level. I cut back to 6mg, but have again increased it to 12mg. I'm trying it 4 days a week, instead of the original 5 the first time. Someone posted on healthboards in the past that he started with 25mg and that he couldn't think of anything but sex 24/7.

I have read that you are supposed to cycle it, like 5 days on and 2 off and then skip it for 2 weeks every 2 months. This is because ones body will stop producing DHEA if there is enough with supplimentation.

Re: What to take to increase testosterone and reduce estrogen

For some the DHEA pills will work.

For others the best way to increase Testosterone is weekly self injections of 100mg testosterone cyp. About 20 per month.

For those and others need to reduce the E2, estradiol, that can cause loss of sex drive & boob growth. I take an 1/2 Arimidex tablet 3 times a week & 2 DIM tyablets daily .

I am 47XXy & naturally have high E2 & low testosterone since puberty.

Has anyone tried 6-OXO? It is supposed to increase testosterone and reduce estrogen. It sounds good, but then doesn't everything on the web.

I tried 6-OXO and saw nothing. Like most internet stuff its a waste of time and money.
I tried Arimidex (Rx}and saw a difference within 36 hours.
It is very powerful so you should only take the minimum to get results.
You will see about 3 to 5 years taken off of your age within a couple of days!

Re: What to take to increase testosterone and reduce estrogen

Thank you all for your responses. Unfortunately, the relationship has ended after 7 years of waiting to have sex.

I rather the reason for me not being able to enjoy life in that way is to be alone. My ex didn't want to help himself. He was happy with no sex, porn and masturbation, so I just left him to do that.

I wonder why the responses 4 months later. Oh well. It wouldn't have worked anyway, cuz as I said, he didn't want help or to change the situation.

Now I need to find a way to be a sexluded nun because there's no sex for me in the future. I'm a tall woman who can't fit in anything, therefore cannot be presentable (trust me, I tried everything and the only attires that would work for me, I can't afford), I'm hairy like a bloody monkey and i spent my teenage years mutilating myself so I have marks all over my body.

It's over.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I can see there were good ones, just no use for them anymore.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go look for a convent........
