First let me apologize for my english mistakes, for the long text and to say thank you for sharing your problems and being supportive with another people.
To resume its like this:
I'm 24, and i'm struggling with ED since my 19. As you problably are thinking I did a bunch of exams and the result is a venous leakage. During this time, I tried everything, pills, injections, ved and did on last year a dorsal vein ligation. I already knew this probably wouldn't fix my problem but was the right thing to do. As excepted it doesn't helped almost nothing, I can't get a 100% erection, and when I'm only able to get a fully erection is when I masturbate to the point I almost achieve ejaculation, but if I stop, within 3 seconds I get fully soft. I will not discuss all the problems that this stupid disease bring to my life, but just to let you know, I already tried to commit suicide in past.
Now, my urologist and my therapist say that only and final solution is to have a 3 piece implant. They already explain me everything and I already read and search a lot of it but what I really want to know is to hear from those who have it. So I hope you could help me answering some questions if you don't mind.
1. Using percentage how looks the penis with the implant when flacid and erect compared? 90% like when was natural for example? When grabbing the penis does can you feel the silicone tubes?
2. And how about the pump on the testicle? Is it noticed bye the eyes? I supose that its already noticed bye the touch.
3. Can a guy with the implant do everything as before? Masturbation, oral sex, vaginal, anal? Does it limit the sex positions or what?
4. What to expect about the size? For exemple if in flacid the guy have 4.7 inches of lenght and 5.5 inches of girth and erect have 8.6 inches of lenght and 6.6 inches what values more or less could it become with the implant?
5. How about pleasure? How much different is the sensation on ejaculation? Its the sex weird by the glans being soft? Don't the glans become hard when you're about to ejaculate?
6. Can a guy do is normal life as before in sports? I'm talking about going to the gym, play soccer, tennis, running, whatever.
7. How much does cost just the implant? I don't have to pay anything for the surgeries but I don't know yet anything about the implant, wich brands, etc, but I think AMS is the best and this is the only thing I want.
One more thing, it's the only and final solution after everything else before already failed. Would you do it? If not, why? I don't want to be a lonely person for the rest of my life and I rather have a normal sexual life during my youth.
Hey Guy -
There are plenty of resources for your questions. There are several boards o the web that deal with the implant. This is a good one, as well as some that deal with prostate cancer. So take your time and research and ask lots of questions (as you are doing now).
First, every one will react different to the implant. Some will have excellent results (as I have had) and others will have some problems (as I have as well). Please donít be too depressed, as there are options that can allow you to have a functioning sex life.
One other issue - remember that you should fully explore all treatment options before you decide on the implant. There is no turning back once you have made this decision. There are many treatment options today that we not available when I hade my 1st implant in 1979.
Iíll answer your questions as they have related to my experiences and other implant patients I have met.
[1. Using percentage how looks the penis with the implant when flacid and erect compared? 90% like when was natural for example? When grabbing the penis does can you feel the silicone tubes?]
The flaccid state will be different. The implant cylinders make the penis look slightly fuller. I was a professional athlete and never did shower in a public health club after my implants. Others will have a more natural look. The erect implant can look very natural. It depends on your architecture. If you have a large head (glans) it will be soft, as the implant cylinders are only a mechanical means of an erection. Blood flow will no longer engorge the head of the penis. Some patients have had some success with medications in getting the head of the penis harder. Normally you do not feel tubes with casual contact. If you question is can you conceal the fact that you have an implant from your lover, that would be very difficult.
[2. And how about the pump on the testicle? Is it noticed bye the eyes? I supose that its already noticed bye the touch.]
Visually, the pump will be unnoticeable for the most part. It is a small plastic piece that will hang down, usually between the testicles.
[3. Can a guy with the implant do everything as before? Masturbation, oral sex, vaginal, anal? Does it limit the sex positions or what?]
Yes, everything should be ok. Only you must be careful of extreme activity. There is a chance of an implant cylinder being dislodged. (I had this happen)
[4. What to expect about the size? For exemple if in flacid the guy have 4.7 inches of lenght and 5.5 inches of girth and erect have 8.6 inches of lenght and 6.6 inches what values more or less could it become with the implant?]
This can vary widely. Some lose almost nothing, while others is can be considerable. My 1st implant I lost very little. On my revision implants I have lost a lot - over 1 1/2Ē from scar tissue.
[5. How about pleasure? How much different is the sensation on ejaculation? Its the sex weird by the glans being soft? Don't the glans become hard when you're about to ejaculate?]
There is very little difference is sensation with the 1st implant. The penis can and usually does lose sensitivity when you need a revision, due to nerve damage. I have lost about 90% of sensation. The way you feel during ejaculation is no different in my case. From implant #1 to implant #7óthey are all about the same. The glans will not get hard in most implant patients.
[6. Can a guy do is normal life as before in sports? I'm talking about going to the gym, play soccer, tennis, running, whatever.]
I was a racquetball pro before my implant, and a racquetball pro after my implant. You can do about anything you want. There are times that you might get in a position that the pump will be pressing on the testicles, but it is a minor inconvenience.
[7. How much does cost just the implant? I don't have to pay anything for the surgeries but I don't know yet anything about the implant, wich brands, etc, but I think AMS is the best and this is the only thing I want.]
AMS is a good choice. I have always had this model implant, as it gives the most natural appearance both flaccid and erect. The newer models are much more advanced since my 1st implant in 1979. They still will fail. Average is aprox. 10 years. Some longer, some (like me) average 7 years. I have had 3 implants that have failed due to fluid loss. The AMS is guaranteed for life at the cost of when it was implanted. My last implant was 2002, the unit cost 15,500.00 at that time. When I need a revision, that will only cover the original cost of the implant. The total cost if done in the US can range from 30 to 45k - mine have always run on the high side of this figure. In the past my surgeries were covered by insurance. But in 2005 the coverage was changed in my state. There is no insurance coverage on this procedure available for individual policies or small group coverage. It is strictly full out of pocket. Also, be aware that you will have to pay the Ďretailí rate for services. This can be 20 to 40% or more higher that those that have a covered insurance policy.
[One more thing, it's the only and final solution after everything else before already failed. Would you do it? If not, why? I don't want to be a lonely person for the rest of my life and I rather have a normal sexual life during my youth.]
I had organic impotence due to a hospital mistake, so I had no other choice. I was 25 when I was injured and 27 when I had my 1st implant. It is well worth it, if there is no other option.
Hope this helps.
Thank you very much for all your anwsers. In fact I noticed that there is a bunch of threads about penile implant. I'll try to read all of them to get all my notes to discuss with my doctors. I'm not from the great USA so I don't know yet how will be things about prices, the only thing I know it's that I'll never have to pay anything for any surgery.
Thanks for your support but it's really hard to deal with something like this. Seems everything is gone.
I hope you take a look around.
Please visit some of the prostate cancer boards if you get a chance.
I say this because of your frustration with your condition. I understand - I have spent many months in the hospital. And it is not a great medical condition to deal with. I have gone years without function, then regain it and lose it again.
But go to any prostate cancer board and you might see that you have a lot to be thankful for.
There are quite a few men that are not just challenged by their sexual dysfunction, but are fighting for their lives. Many are rendered impotent, as well as incontinent. It is an important part of being a man, but still above all else, the content of your character is most important. I have always had many girlfriends and have always been open and honest about my condition. It was never a problem - it is what it is. I didnít get married until 4 years ago - Iím 54 and my wife who is 16 years younger is very beautiful and sexy. (Itís the truth - sheís quite a catch).
So all is not lost. There are plenty of us who are in the same boat as you, so donít despair. There is a way to get you back on track.
hello my name is mike i'm 29 years old with ed had a priapism from trazodone about 2 years ago since then my natural erections have not returned pde5 meds work about half of the time not interested in shots, vaccums from where i read it makes fibrosis worse also have progressing peyronies went and seen dr levine from chicago and said penile implant a possibility my questions are 1.what is the healing period like is it very painful 2.if an infection occurs can they do a revision surgery3.is intercourse the same as it was or is the implant have a tendency to break if there was anal, oral cowgirl sex4.what is the ridgidity like with the implant compared to before5. what is the life span of the pump6.last question can i enjoy playing sports such as basketball baseball working out swiming running wrestling with my kids.thanks guys for your answers
I had my implant in 2007, three years ago. The viagra quit working and caused terrible headaches. I had a choice of implant, or no sex the rest of my life. Problem was, my feelings for sex was the same and my eyes followed attractive girls around, but I couldn't do anything.
It took about nine months to get back to normal and learn completely how to use it effectively. The feelings during intercourse are the same, the ejaculation is the same, I am back to normal and proud when I look in the mirror in the mornings.
The little pump is not noticable unless you touch it. The penis was larger in circumference, but the length was the same. I found that if I pump it up frequently, it will slowly get a little longer. I guess when you pump it up the tissues fill in slowly. Lack of use will decrease the size.
I usually have to pump it several times at the beginning of when I think something is going to happen, then pump again when she goes in the rest-room (I think they all do that), then a few more quick pumps when I am going to put it in. Each time seems to make it enlarge a little more.
I can leave it up as long as we want, even when I'm finished. I have a tendency to leave it up after sex and fall asleep, and let it down in the morning.
If I had this decision to do over, I wouldn't hesitate.
Thank for the info., i'm still learning, cause my urologist recomend me an implant.
I just have mine done (im puertorican too) this past Wednesday..everything went okay..personally I never have had surgery - I am 40 and diabetic (juvenile) and didnt know what to expect other than I had ED and that I had a penis curvature due to injections (hate injections)..then decided to get the implant - tired of living this ED life - so my doctor placed the AMS CXR which is a very rigid inplant but does not give you additional length in size - while the LGX does (but it wont really give you that much more)..nevertheless, that is what was placed on me..it was painful when I woke up - but meds do help - then they pump it up a little and here I am days in and I have a semi hardon that feels sore because its pushing against the tissue and even the scar tissue from the curvature but I see no curvature, to early to stress on size as I am bruised and somewhat swollen but it has gone down more and more and less pain meds I need..I did find the pump in my scrotum so I was happy that I could..I also got a vasectomy - at 40 Im not trying to be dad again..so it was a good time to get this all done..6 week now I have to wait and I am bless to have the most beautiful woman God created and patient, I can take care of her orally but her *** is introuble once I get this device up and running..NO MERCY - I love my girl so much and she has been there thru and thru..Im not even overly concern with size - looks like what I have will do the job and she wont even complain (hey you can put it to her without ever worrying it will go down even when your down)
anyways - good luck ..make sure to try pills and injections. If you endup with injections, I tried Edex and that was painful but worked but too painful, switched to BiMix..much better - no pain but I immediately got the curvature and shrinking - lol..if you do go this route with bimix or trimix - get yourself a AUTOINJECT (BD makes them cheap) and you will never feel the needle go in - trust me - best investment I made in this area - you wont miss anything or feel anything..
Muchas Gracias richlo, i will see what is bimix and trimix before use it.
i'm 62 diabetic 11 year now, i try cialis 10mg, viagra 10mg and nada.
now i going to try levitra 20mg if is not works i will try then bimix and trimix.
