Coloplast Penile Implant
I have a Coloplast Alpha 1 Titan/OTR Pump implant - which was done November/2012.
I have recently starting using the implant (delayed for various reasons) and I have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with.
1. When the penis is flaccid there is a slight bulge at the base on the left and right side - I believe it is where the tubes are connected. When the implant is inflated the bulge goes away. Is the flaccid state bulge normal?
2. I am unable to deflate the implant to what my flaccid state was before the implant and sometime, because of the length and stiffness, this presents a problem - certain type of clothes; working out at the gym; even something as mundane as bending over to tie shoes. Is this normal?
3. Related to question 2 - after deflating to a relatively comfortable flaccid state my penis seems to start to inflate just by doing normal activities. It seems as if whatever valve should prevent this from happening is not closing all the way. I've even tried to give the inflation bulb a slight pump to see if that would help but it doesn't. Is this normal?
4. Now that I am using the implant; I have pain - mostly on the right side of the head of my penis - during intercourse; I would say it's a sharp pain. This interferes with the pleasure of having sex and worries me that something serious might be wrong. The only time I have this pain is during sex - even though a few times I did get a shooting pain in the same area when doing nothing but those instances have gotten a lot less. This is the most important question I have and I hope someone may have some insight as to this situation and wonder if this pain might go away with more usage or could it get worse?
If this stays the same, or gets worse, I will give the doctor a call. But right now I would like to see if someone has information or if this pain might go away. I have heard where it could take anywhere up to a year to fully heal from this procedure - right now it's been about 6 months for me.
Thanks for any information or input.
