Question What's the likelihood that.....

Me and my girlfriend just started having sex and we both don't want her to get pregnant.

She isn't on birth control, but i use a spermicidal condom and pull out when i ejaculate.
Could you guys give me a scenario of how this could get her pregnant.
As i really don't see how it would be possible, as if the condom ripped, it's not like i would have been inside of her when i ejaculated....right??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanx in advance

No birth control however perfectly used is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. When you have sex there is always a risk of pregnancy to some degree or another.
It is by far better if she were to be on some form of birth control herself.
Holes can occur in condoms that you dont see and pre-ejaculate can contain sperm that can lead to pregnancy. So even pulling out before you ejaculate doesnt provide as much protection as you think. Granted it might reduce the risk but there is still a risk.
There is a post by Greenberry(I think that is her screen name) and she has found that condoms can fail just like other forms of birth control.

Re: What's the likelihood that.....

This is what my Fiance and I have been using (I also chart though) For about a year and a half...and have yet to have any problems with it.

That's NOT to say that it can't/won't happen though!

If you DEFINATELY do NOT want to her to get pregnant (Don't have sex LOL) Just kidding....I'd have her get on the pill and continue what your doing with it.....

Like I said....we haven't had any problems but I really don't know what the percentages are....

Well, even before you fully ejaculate, some ejaculate can still seep out. So, if the condom ripped and you, um... "dribbled" a bit before pulling out, it could happen. Pulling out and wearing a spermicidal condem should keep the chances very low, though.

I don't really think that spermicidal condoms are effective.

If you pull out before you orgasm, the odds of pregnancy are very, very low. The failure rate of this technique is due to the man failing to pull out and not realizing the condom has slipped off.

Re: What's the likelihood that.....

You're going to be told that she'll probably get pregnant, because statistics indicating a 1:10,000 chance means you have to be prepared for that chance.

If you don't want to get her pregnant, you should be pulling out all the stops -- like getting her on birth control. They have hormonal methods now that are appropriate for people with high blood pressure and other chronic conditions.
