actually, "the clap" (or "the drip") is known as the std Gonorrhea, which is one of the more common sexually transmitted diseases. Its spread during sexual intercourse, meaning either vaginal, anal, and oral. And is commonly found in younger people (ages 15-30) who have multiple sex partners. Gonorrhea can also be spread from mother to child during birth. As for "the clap" nickname, there are lots of rumors, none of which i have ever heard of being proven entirely true. some say that it was named "the clap" as slang for a brothel. while, still others refer to vietnam stories of american soldiers becoming exposed to the disease as a result of sex with vietnamese women. i dont know exactly, take from it what you will. hope i helped
good to know! I was thinking later about the latest discussion we (my friends and I) had on the clap- and remembering we never figured out if it was clamydia or not. We assumed it was because it started with a C. Pretty ingenius of us hey! I will have to spill the real truth to them tomorrow...no more mix ups on my part!
