Enlarged lymph nodes in genital area
Hello,
Two weeks ago my boyfriend and I had sex without lubrication which was very painful and essentially caused a painful burn-type cut right between my vaginal opening and my anus. Here I am now and it has not gone away not to mention I have approx. 4 or 5 enlarged, very tender swollen lymph nodes in my genital area. Looking back over the past two weeks, I had developed several abnormal symptoms. Last weekend (a week later after our sexual intercourse), I was so achey and tired one day that could hardly get out of bed. Having two parents who had the flu at the time, I assumed I had contracted it. That night I had a really bad episode of night sweat while sleeping...to the point that I had to change my pajamas in the middle of the night and sleep on the couch because my side of the bed was soaked. The very next day...I felt absolutely fine. NO flu to speak of. A couple days later I noticed my legs were achy, my bottom still sore, and even a milky/clear vaginal discharge. I decided to do the old fashioned epsom salt bath which I have been doing for the past four days...with no improvement. Among all these bizarre symptoms, I still have periodic episodes of night sweats, occuring one night, not the next, again another night and so on. And in just the past few days, I noticed that the reason my bottom is so sore is not just the irritation from no lubrication, but also because of tender, enlarged swollen lymph nodes in my groin and genital area, even near my buttocks. This evening I went to the store and bought hydrocortisone cream and applied that, so hopefully it will help. Do you think my burn/irritation/tear/whathaveyou is infected? Will it heal naturally or would I need oral antibiotics? I work in the medical field and know that the role of lymph nodes is to fight infection...so will my body just naturally heal itself? What are your thoughts? Thank you for your time.
