It seems as if this has happened for a long time now, but when ever I have sexual thoughts, or built up tension, if I try to deny that impulse to masturbate, my heart rate won't go down. And usually, it will keep spiking up and down every time I continue to have those thoughts. It's not so much that it scares me as much as I would like to know what to do about it besides the obvious, because it happens enough that I'm worried my heart my be affected in a negative way by it.

I always have to masturbate when these things happen because if I don't my heart rate goes up and down and I can't stop the thoughts long enough to get settled down.

They usually happen strongest when I'm trying to sleep, but it can happen at anytime. If this is normal I'd also like to know.

How old are you?

Don't worry about your heart. Getting sexually excited won't harm it.

20 years old, and this really started back when I was 16.

Well, I'm not a guy, but what you describe sounds just like the usual teen-age/early twenty-something male scenario. Your hormones are raging and your sexual urges can feel (or so I'm told) out of control.

Maybe by giving in to these urges and not trying to deny them, your heart rate won't bother you. At a minimum, you should try to stop worrying about your sexual urges and your heart.
