| Re: Sex without a condom
When taken correctly (meaning not late and not missing any), the pill is 99% effective against pregnancy. That means you're not having unprotected sex if she's on the pill and taking it correctly.
Many women stop using condoms once they get on the pill because that's the whole point of why it was invented. It's the reason why many women opt for the pill because they don't want to use condoms.
Just to clarify also, the placebo week when a woman gets her period, she is still protected, provided she has taken all of the active pills in her pack. This question seems to come up a lot here and I'm not sure why the confusion. If she's on the pill, she is covered, the placebo week doesn't mean she's not protected during that week. The pill was designed to imitate a woman's cycle, which is why she takes the week off for a period.
