23 year old virgin

I am 23 years old and am still a virgin. I am a normal guy, very outgoing, and enjoy my life and my job. I was very driven in college to reach my career goals, and I am happy to say I have. However, I did not date much during that time and that may be why the "opportunity" did not come up. My question is, is being a virgin at my age abnormal? I'm afraid that if I wait for the right girl, it may be a long time still! Although my sex drive remains strong, I often wish I could have been having sex at 16 like most of my friends so I could have the amount of experience they have. Please give your opinions on this.

Re: 23 year old virgin

No, its not abnormal at all to be a virgin at your age. There are plenty of guys who are virgins at 23. Despite what you hear, not everyone has sex in high school. I saw one survey that showed a little less than half of high school seniors had lost their virginity by graduation. Most lose their virginity during the college years, but again, not all. There are many people who chose to wait until marriage before having sex for religious and personal reasons. Often this keeps them virgins well beyond 23. Also, keep in mind that unless you freely talk about your virginity, nobody knows you are a virgin for sure except for you. Many people could just as easily assume you are not a virgin. As for your friends, I highly doubt most of them were having sex at 16. Maybe a few were, but not most. At that age, a lot of guys lie about their sexual experiences to make themselve seem like more of a "man" to their friends. It's just part of the male competitive spirit driven by huge amounts of testosterone.

As for experience - don't worry about that. Wait to have sex with someone you truly love - that will be the most enjoyable sex experience you can have. If you're with a woman who truly loves you, your lack of sexual experience won't matter in the slightest. In fact, she may even find it cute that she is your first one. And experience will come very quickly. Sure, those first few times will be a bit akward, but you'll get the hang of it real quick.

Just my opinion, but I recommend that you stay a virgin until you meet that "right girl" who you truly love. Avoid trying to do a one night stand with someone you don't really care about just to have sex. It will be worth the wait to have sex with the right woman.

Experience isn't all it's cracked up to be either. A guy could have slept with 10 women at your age and still not have a clue. Sure, he knows the mechanics of sex, but who doesn't? If you're a good communicator, in love with the woman you lose your virginity to, and willing to learn about how to pleasure her, you're ahead of the game in many respects.

Re: 23 year old virgin

Look, I'm a 22 year old girl, and I can tell you this: The good thing about you is that you focused and you have your career going. That is more important than having sex! Most guys your age are barely getting out of college, and they probally don't even like the feild that they went into. So what if they slept with some chicks! That is so irrelavent! When you are 40 years old, what influences your life more, when you first had sex, or where you are in your career? You career will follow you everwhere for the rest of your life, it is most influential. You sound like a good guy, that was very smart of you to work first on your career! Any girl that has her head on straight will tell you that.
