I was wondering when the easiest time to get pregnant is. I heard that it is right before you get your period, but doesnt your period "clean out your system?" If anyone knows the awnser to this, please let me know, your info will be greatly apprecited. Thank you

Are you trying to get pregnant or trying not to?

If you're trying NOT to get pregnant, assuming you're a teen, since that's your post title, my answer would be "the easiet time to get pregnant is any time between puberty and when you decide you actually want to have a child". If you're looking for a "safe" time to have sex, forget it. Use birth control. While there is a point in a woman's cycle where she is more likely to get pregnant, avoiding this time is not birth control, it's Russian roulette.

If you ARE trying to get pregnant, sorry for the lecture. Let us know and you'll probably get a better answer.

Good advice, if your a teen and not wanting to get pregnant there is no safe time. Always use protection.

The only time you can get pregnant is when you are ovulating, ie, when you actually release an egg from your ovaries. Typically, that is mid-cycle (around day 14 for a 28-day cycle). However, sperm can live inside you for 2-5 days, so having unprotected sex BEFORE you ovulate can lead to pregnancy.

I'd like to point out that if you have no idea how your body works you're too young to be having sex. And I mean that in the nicest way :-) Get yourself educated. On the other hand, if you're not having sex but just wanted some knowledge, I apologize :-)

Donna, you forgot to include how long it takes the egg to travel before it finally leaves the uterus which means fertilization can take place AFTER ovulation too, and sperm has been shown to remain viable for longer than 5 days, and the 14th day is an approximate, and your cycle has to be so regular you can set a calendar to it...
Again, liltalkalot, if you are trying to avoid pregnancy, this is just too risky...
