Post My partner has an Unknown Infection. The doctor hasn't told her anything.

My partner has had an ''unknown'' infection since August of last year before we met and the doctor hasn't been able to tell her anything. She seems to discharge ALOT, she'll discharge all over her underwear and what not. When I come to see her in about 5 days she says that while I'm there shes going to be using tampons because of it. We are holding off on sex right now but the infection prevents me from pleasuring her properly with my hand. I can rub her but if I try and go into her with my fingers it hurts her. She has been to the doctor a few times and they cant seem to tell her anything. She had some tests and it isn't any kind of STD so if anyone can clarify this it would be appreciated. Thanks alot.

First what kind of discharge?? The reason I ask is women actually have a natural discharge that helps keep us clean and even is a sign of impending fertility and actual fertile time. Some women will have more than others and so on since we are all different.
As long as there isnt a bad smell, itching, burning, pain, strange color,or lumpy discharge chances are it is her normal cervical mucus. That is the proper name for the normal stuff.
Also using a tampon wouldnt be a good idea. They are only meant for when one is on their period. And if by chance it is an infection then it could make things worse by trapping it inside her.
Have her read the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It has some great on info on what is normal discharge and even has pictures so one can understand more. She can get it at her local library or bookstore.
If she is still worried that it is an infection have her go to a totally different doctor to get a second opinion.

Hey thank you so much Blastoff. I'm not sure how I'm really going to bring it up to her since she doesn't know I inquired about it on a health board so bringig it up is another matter altogether hehe. Hmm, well from what shes said, its thicker then the norm. I dont know, she said its different then the normal fluid. But maybe by ''fluid'' she means ejaculate. Hmm. Maybe she doesn't know about the cervical mucus you speak of. I didn't know about it. But its a constant thing with her. the discharge. I'll tell her about using a tampon being a bad idea. Thanks a lot and anymore help would be appreciated. Also, I'll ask her more about it tonight.
