Latex vs. polyurethane condoms - Sexual Health - General Message Board

My girlfriend thinks she is allergic to latex. After we've had sex, she complains that she itches down there for a while. We've ruled out several things as she gets this reaction every time after we've been intimate. She asked that I switch to non-latex condoms, something in which I have no problem in doing. In terms of durability, how are polyurethane condoms compared to latex? I have never used polyurethane condoms before. The ones I will get on my next drug store run are the Trojan Supras. Anyone have experience with these specific ones?

They should be fine. It is certainly worth experimenting with.

If they're Trojans they should be safe, just in case you might want to get nonoxyl-9 & use with them

Hi,
We have used the Trojan Supra. My b/f has an allergy. They are wicked. No mood-killing latex smell. Also, my sweetie claims that they provide him with a better range of sensation and heat transfer to his penis.

Thank you all for your responses. Lascot - good to hear. Sounds like they may be a bit better sensationwise than laten condoms? I'll go out and buy some and give 'em a road test.
