For HIV and Herpes, they will need to take blood. For the rest, they take a swab sample from your vagina (I'm assuming your female). I have been tested regularily for many years, and they have never tested for anything via urine.
ok thanks a lot. My boyfriend is just really skiddish of blood, and we thought they took a blood sample to test for STDs. Are you aware of how they test males?
For males, they will still need to draw blood to check for herpes, hiv and hepatitis. For the other STD's, they will either do a swab test (swabbing the inside of the urethra), or some places are now using a urine test for some STD's, but I'm not sure which ones can be tested for in the urine. There is no test available for HPV (genital warts).
