Burning sensation on a sectionof my penis

I have had this weird burning sensation on my a section of the right side of the head of my penis. Everything else is completely fine. I have no visible red marks on it, sores, or discharge whatsoever. I am sexually active with my girlfriend however we had not have had sex for more than a week (she switched to the shot form of birth control, have to wait according to the doc). The pain occurs when almost any form of pressure is applied to the area, even while walking I can feel it being hit by my pants. I noticed it when i woke up, maybe I slept on my stomach and got morning wood causing bruised tissue?? Anyone experience this before?

Re: Burning sensation on a sectionof my penis

I am experiencing the same sensation and have been for 11 days now. I saw my Dr. and was assured it's not an STI. I have read on other sites that it could be related to the prostate: Prostatitis. There are no visual indications anything is wrong, but the feeling is sometimes unbearable. It is isolated to a small section on the rim of my head. Antibacterial ointments do not relieve the pain. I have provided a urine sample, however the site I found states this will not determine anything. I get the results in a week or so. Apparently, to deduce prostatitis, you have to supply a semen sample and prostate fluid sampe. Although this is an uncomfortable procedure (the prostate has to be massaged to release enough fluid to get a sample) I am going to ask my Dr at the next appointment I have. I'd rather feel the shame then feel the pain. The treatment is specific to the type of organisms being produced to cause this effect so a culture must be examined to determine what type of antibiotic to prescribe.
Are you still experiencing this? Have you found out anything?
